ENGLEWOOD, Fla. – Andrew Bostick of Marco Island, Fla., will no longer have to wonder if he is ever going to take part in a major-league redfish tournament win. Today, he and team mate Mark Sepe of Deland, Fla., took home a pair of Redfish Series trophies for their mantles – and a check for $37,500 to boot – for winning the Wal-Mart FLW Redfish Series out of Englewood, Fla. with a three-day total of 39 pounds even.
“Finally!” exclaimed Bostick with a sigh of relief. “After a while you really start to wonder if a win is ever going to happen – now it has.”
“We’re ecstatic,” Sepe added. “This is our second event fishing together as a team and I hope it’s a sign of things to come.”
Charlie Roberts of Melbourne, Fla., and John Baker of Homosassa, Fla., finished the tournament with a total of two pounds ten ounces.
“ We continue to learn this competitive tournament fishing,” says Roberts. “ There are teams working together and that makes it doubly difficult for the team that is working alone.”
Jeffrey Brown, formally of Melbourne, now of Orlando, Fla., and Marcus Nichols of Orlando, Fla., finished with two pounds three ounces. This duo says they will continue to improve as they continue to work as a team and have good communications. Brown and Nichols are sponsored by Tailored Services of Orland.
Dan Grimes, the FLW Redfish Series tournament Director, was pleased to have a full field of 150 boats for the tournament. The top prize of over $37 thousand dollars was awarded to the winning team. The next FLW Redfish Series will be held May 18 – 20 in Titusville, Fla.
